Some thoughts on order turnover times.. (please read)
This is a repost - originally written last year :) But still applicable :)
I just wanted to make a real quick blog about my shipping times. As I know this is of great concern to many of you. Nobody wants to wait when they are buying products online, but unfortunately during busy times it is something I cannot avoid. During busy/sale times I usually have a turnover of 3 weeks on my site for shipping. During normal times, I'm often much quicker than this. But during sales I am very close to this and sometimes a little bit over.
Trust me, I know its really hard to wait that long for orders. Being a buyer online of goods myself I don't like waiting either. But there is some very good reasons for why my shipping times are much longer than others. I try to be upfront about this (hence putting it on the front page of my site) so you know what to expect.
Here is the main reasons:
- I handcraft these orders, so they can be as fresh as possible when they
arrive to you :) This is especially important with natural products, because their shelf life is usually only 3 - 6 months (rough estimate)
- Mom of 5 kiddos (Our lil baby boy is 3 months old, our toddler girl is 1 1/2, boys are 4 and 5 and my oldest is 14)
- We homeschool the 5 year old and 14 year old
- Its mostly me doing your orders (emails, formulating, packing, shipping!) With help from hubby when he can :) Without his help I would go crazy! But he is usually the one watching the kids when I am answering emails, formulating etc. We cannot yet afford to hire anyone to help us.
- I also work on some forums online (GOW and Meow) and I actually work for Garden of Wisdom with many things.
If you ever have any questions about your orders, or about products please don't hesitate to email me. I try to be available for emails a couple times through the day but occasionally it will take me up to 2 days to get to your emails. Especially if its alot of questions or if its the weekend. I try to be very thorough in my replies so this sometimes means longer emails will take a bit more to answer :)
I have said this before, but I will say it again. I truly and humbly appreciate the understanding I have received from the majority of my customers. I would have to say that there hasn't really been that many that have not been understanding. I hope that in the end, the waiting time is worth it and that you enjoy the products I love to create and provide for you :)
In love and Friendship,
Jen
